Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Develop relationships with customers to encourage repeat visits and build loyalty through personalized service.
- Stay updated on industry trends and innovations to enhance the coffee-making process and customer experience.
- Handle cash and electronic transactions accurately while providing a friendly and efficient checkout experience.
- Train and mentor new staff members on coffee preparation techniques and customer service best practices.
- Experiment with new coffee recipes and flavors to keep the menu exciting and appealing to customers.
- Monitor inventory levels of coffee beans and supplies, placing orders as necessary to prevent shortages.
- Engage with customers to provide recommendations and educate them on different coffee blends and brewing methods.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the coffee station, ensuring all equipment is properly sanitized and ready for use.
- Prepare and brew a variety of coffee beverages to meet customer preferences while maintaining high-quality standards.
Desired Candidate Profile
- High school diploma or equivalent; barista certification preferred for specialized coffee knowledge.
- 1-3 years of experience in a fast-paced coffee shop or café environment, showcasing hands-on coffee-making skills.
- Preference for candidates with prior experience in customer service roles, especially in food and beverage industries.
- Fluency in English is a must; proficiency in additional languages is a strong advantage for customer engagement.
- Proficient in operating espresso machines, grinders, and brewing equipment with an eye for detail in every beverage.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a friendly, outgoing personality that enhances customer interactions.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, to meet the demands of the coffee shop environment.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift heavy bags of coffee beans or equipment as needed.
- Creativity and passion for coffee culture, with a willingness to learn and adapt to new techniques and trends.
