Join our dynamic culinary team as a Commis I in Novotel & Adagio Premium Dubai Al Barsha! We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to support our kitchen operations and contribute to creating exceptional dining experiences for our guests.
- Assist in the preparation of ingredients, including washing, peeling, chopping, and measuring
- Support senior chefs in cooking and plating dishes according to established recipes and standards
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation, adhering to food safety and hygiene standards
- Operate and maintain kitchen equipment properly
- Follow recipes and cooking instructions accurately
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely food preparation and service
- Assist in inventory management and stock rotation
- Participate in kitchen cleaning and sanitation tasks
- Learn and adapt to new cooking techniques and recipes
- Contribute to a positive and teamwork-oriented kitchen environment
- High school diploma or equivalent; culinary school diploma or certificate preferred
- Basic culinary knowledge and techniques
- Proficiency in knife skills and food preparation techniques
- Familiarity with kitchen equipment operation and maintenance
- Understanding of food safety and hygiene practices; food safety certification preferred
- Basic math skills for recipe measurements and conversions
- Excellent time management and multitasking abilities
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
- Attention to detail in food preparation and presentation
- Willingness to learn and grow in the culinary field
- Knowledge of local food regulations and standards in Dubai
