Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Prepare and portion ingredients according to recipes and supervisor instructions, ensuring consistency and minimizing waste for optimal food cost control.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation, adhering to strict hygiene and sanitation standards to prevent cross-contamination and ensure food safety.
  • Assist in the preparation of all menu items as directed, working efficiently during service periods to meet demanding customer orders.
  • Label and store all food items properly, following FIFO (First In, First Out) principles to maintain freshness and minimize spoilage.
  • Operate and maintain kitchen equipment, reporting any malfunctions promptly to the supervisor to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and guidelines, including proper handling of knives, hot equipment, and chemicals, to create a safe working environment.
  • Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient service during peak hours, fostering a positive team environment.
  • Participate in daily briefings and training sessions, continuously improving culinary skills and knowledge of new menu items.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required, demonstrating a foundational educational background.
  • Prior experience in a similar kitchen role, ideally 1-2 years, showcasing practical experience in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices, ensuring adherence to health and hygiene standards.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and maintain composure during busy service periods, showcasing resilience.
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn and take direction, reflecting a growth mindset.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25kg, meeting the demands of the role.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, fostering a collaborative and efficient kitchen environment.
