Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Construction & Supervision
- Review and implement Habitat Installation/Method Statements for hot work in classified/live hydrocarbon environments.
- Ensure proper preparation of work areas and safety measures related to positive pressure habitat systems. Coordinate welding, cutting, repair, and maintenance activities within habitat areas as per PTW and HSE protocols.
- Prepare daily and weekly work plans along with construction progress reports. Liaise with the Client, HSE Team, Operations, and QA/QC departments.
- Coordinate material availability, manpower allocation, equipment, lifting plans, and logistics for offshore execution
Technical Competence
- Review and validate mechanical drawings including Isometrics, P&IDs, and General Arrangements.
- Prepare and review Method Statements, Risk Assessments, Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and lifting or installation procedures.
- Ensure installation activities comply with offshore engineering standards. Possess knowledge of bolt torquing, hydrostatic and pneumatic testing, flange management, and system reinstatement
Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)
- Ensure compliance with Permit to Work (PTW), Habitat safety rules, and SIMOPS guidelines.
- Supervise gas testing, fire watch, ventilation systems, and emergency response during habitat activities.
- Conduct toolbox talks, perform risk assessments, and ensure proper PPE usage.
Desired Candidate Profile
Education: MANDATORY - Bachelor’s degree in mechanical/diploma Engineering or equivalent. (diploma with 10+ years’ experience)
Experience: MANDATORY - Minimum 7–10 years in offshore oil & gas mechanical construction (brownfield).
Technical Knowledge Required:
- Habitat installation for hot works and preparation of associated method statements,
- piping fabrication and erection
- as well as flange management and leak testing.
- Familiarity with offshore Permit to Work (PTW), SIMOPS, and emergency procedures is required.
Preferred certifications include:
- NEBOSH, IOSH, H2S and BA Training,
- along with OPITO-approved HUET or BOSIET.
