Consultant Anaesthesia (Pain Management)

Position Overview A leading healthcare provider in Abu Dhabi is seeking an experienced Consultant Anaesthetist with a subspecialty focus in Pain Management. The role involves delivering comprehensive acute and chronic pain services alongside anaesthesia practice, within a modern, multidisciplinary clinical environment.

The successful candidate will contribute to the development and delivery of evidence-based pain management services, working closely with surgical teams and allied healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide consultant-level acute and chronic pain management services
• Perform interventional pain procedures in line with scope of practice
• Deliver perioperative anaesthesia care as required
• Assess and manage patients with complex pain conditions
• Develop individualized, multidisciplinary pain management plans
• Collaborate with surgeons, physicians, physiotherapists, and nursing teams
• Participate in inpatient and outpatient pain clinics
• Supervise and support junior medical staff where applicable
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and procedural records
• Participate in clinical governance, audit, and quality improvement initiatives
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, regulatory requirements, and accreditation standards

Requirements

• Recognized specialist qualification in Anaesthesia
• Fellowship or subspecialty training in Pain Management
• Consultant-level experience in pain medicine and anaesthesia
• Eligibility for consultant licensing with the relevant UAE health authority (DOH or equivalent)
• Experience with interventional pain techniques is highly desirable
• Strong communication, clinical judgment, and teamwork skills
