Summary
The role holder is responsable for practicing and promoting the highest possible standards of patient care according to clinical privilages and available resources in the assigned speciality or department of Anesthesiology . Participates in the training and teaching program of King Saud University Medical City.
Education / Qualification Required:
Graduated from recognized medical school
Saudi Board or Equivalent higher qualification in Anesthesia
BLS/ACLS certified
Post post qualifications from one of the following locations:
USA: The American Board Of Anesthesiology
Canada: Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons in Anesthesiology (FRCPS-C)
UK and Ireland: CCST/CCT Certification in Anesthesiology
Australia and New Zealand: Fellowship from the Royal College (FRACP Anesthesiology) or New Zealand College (FRACP Anestehsiology)
Western Europe: Equivalent certification to the above
Basic medical degree from recognized institution
Experience Post Post-Qualifications:
Minimum 6 years post post qualifications.
License:
Current and clean medical license to practice
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
• Provides the highest standard of medical care for whom he/she is responsible.
• To different services in the Anesthesia department (as applicable) whenever instructed by the Chairman of Anesthesia and according to his approved clinical privileges.
• Takes part in the education of all staff assigned to work in anesthesia and pain managements (as applicable) and prepares material used for teaching and contributes to educational activities of the hospital.
• Participates in the improvement of quality of patient care (Total Quality Management Program, Quality Assessment Improvement Program) as applicable.
• Participates in the on-call duties as required by the department/division.
• Fulfills the requirements of the Saudi Council for Health Specialties with regard to continuing medical education.
• Participates in meeting and continuing medical education for the anesthesia department/division, recovery room, and BLS/ACLS (as applicable).
• Participates in the planning and further developments in the department/division.
• Strives to improve his clinical expertise as well as standard of practice with regard to morbidity and cost effectiveness.
• Serves on hospital committees as requested.
• Participates in and/or actively supports approved research projects.
• Deputizes for his superior as requested and shares workload in his specialty during absence of his colleagues.
• Participates in the Major Disaster Plan of the hospital, as indicated.
• Performs other applicable tasks and duties assigned within the realm of his/her knowledge, skills and abilities, within the hospital and/or affiliated medical facilities.
