Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

As a Maternal Fetal Medicine Physician, you will provide specialized medical care related to pregnancy and childbirth, focusing on diagnosing, treating, and preventing diseases affecting women, particularly in their reproductive health. You will work closely with obstetricians and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal outcomes for high-risk pregnancies. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, extensive experience in maternal-fetal medicine, and a commitment to patient-centered care.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations of high-risk pregnancies to develop tailored management plans.

  • Diagnose and treat complications related to pregnancy, including gestational diabetes, preeclampsia, and fetal abnormalities.

  • Perform and interpret advanced diagnostic procedures, such as ultrasounds and genetic testing.

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure cohesive care for patients and their families.

  • Provide counseling and education to patients on pregnancy-related health issues and prenatal care.

  • Stay updated on the latest research and advancements in maternal-fetal medicine to enhance practice and patient outcomes.

  • Participate in surgical procedures related to gynecology and obstetrics as necessary.

  • Document patient histories, treatment plans, and progress notes accurately in electronic health records.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.

  • Completion of residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology.

  • Fellowship training in Maternal Fetal Medicine.

  • Board certification in Maternal Fetal Medicine.

  • Strong clinical skills with a focus on high-risk obstetrics.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective patient interaction.

  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

  • Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
