Roles & Responsibilities
Position Purpose
The Procurement Manager will lead end-to-end procurement activities for AMEA Power. This
role focuses on strategic sourcing, supplier management, and cost optimization, ensuring
timely delivery of goods and services that support the organization's operational and project
goals.
Responsibilities
• Develop and execute procurement procedures and processes aligned with corporate
objectives and project requirements in the renewable energy sector with a focus on cost
control and process compliance.
• Manage the full procurement lifecycle, including sourcing, vendor selection, contract
negotiation, purchase order management, and delivery monitoring.
• Oversee the procurement flow by reviewing purchase requests, validating approvals,
and ensuring purchase orders and payments follow proper authorization channels.
• Identify and evaluate suppliers, ensuring quality, reliability, and competitiveness in
pricing and terms.
• Assist in supplier engagement by verifying that contracted suppliers, terms, and prices
are in line with approved frameworks and budgets, and management and shareholders’
expectations.
• Focus on preventing unnecessary or duplicate expenses by cross-checking
procurement requests and invoices against existing commitments and records.
• Regularly review and reconcile procurement data to identify anomalies, discrepancies,
or inefficiencies that could impact costs.
• Collaborate with project, operations, and finance teams to validate that requested
goods and services are necessary, budgeted, and properly coded for payment. .
• Maintain clear communication with suppliers on invoicing, delivery, and compliance
issues to ensure accuracy and timely resolution.
• Maintain accurate procurement records, reports, and KPIs to support management
decision-making.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies, legal requirements, and relevant industry
standards.
• Support continuous improvement of procurement controls to strengthen cost discipline,
avoid duplication, and ensure payments are properly validated before release.

Experience
Requirements
• 5–7 years of procurement experience, preferably in the renewable
energy, power, or infrastructure sectors.
Education
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business
Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
• A professional procurement certification (e.g., CIPS, CPSM) is a
plus.
• Professional certification in procurement or finance (i.e., CIPS,
CPSM, CPA, ACCA) is an advantage but not mandatory.
• Strong proficiency in Excel and ERP systems (experience with
procurement or accounting modules is highly preferred).
Related/Technical
Skills
• Proven experience in strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, and
vendor management.
• Strong understanding of procurement best practices, cost
optimization techniques, and supply chain management.
• Ability to work independently, make data-driven decisions, and
manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Analytical and detail-oriented, with a strong focus on process
improvement and operational efficiency.
• Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications.
• Knowledge of sustainable procurement practices and renewable
energy industry requirements is an advantage.
