Working in the Manufacturing Asset Technology Centre, you will work closely with Site Manufacturing, Maintenance & Technical departments, business units and business functions. Applicants invited with a minimum of 15 years experience in corrosion engineering, ideally in the Petrochemical or Oil and Gas Industries. This is a residential permanent position (i.e. not rotational) and the Company provides 22 28 days holiday (depending on grade) plus you are entitled to all of the Saudi Public holidays (circa 10 - 14 days). The Company will provide accommodation for single or family status in a secure compound. They will organise all mobilisation / demobilisation transport and you will be entitled to 2 flights home per year.
Responsibilities: You will be responsible for:
Developing company standards on relevant areas of expertise.
Undertaking Cost/benefit analysis, and overseeing technical design, implementing new corrosion technology, assessing sustainability, undertaking trouble shooting and failure analysis.
Providing expertise in global industry standards and practices related to corrosion.
With a thorough knowledge of general principles and theories related to engineering, contribute significantly to the solution of a variety of unique and complex engineering problems.
Managing projects from start to finish demonstrating organisational, prioritisation and time management skills. Be able to make trade-off decisions dependant on the business needs.
Supporting and leading a global virtual team whose members are spread around the world.
Building strong relationships and gaining credibility with stakeholders, business leaders and peers.
Keeping abreast of emerging trends and technologies within your relevant field.
Preferences: The successful candidate will have
Full time degree (no long distance learning degrees) in Engineering essential.
A minimum of 15 years field experience in corrosion engineering and its control essential. Petrochemical and/or Oil and Gas Industry experience highly desired.
In depth understanding of corrosion engineering and principles essential.
Strong knowledge in all corrosive industrial environments and their impact on equipment integrity essential.
Strong understanding of all types of corrosion damage mechanisms and their identification factors essential.
Previous experience in developing corrosion prevention measures and implementation essential.
Knowledge of all types of corrosion technologies and monitoring programs available in the market and their applications in industrial manufacturing sites essential.
Previous strong experience in performing corrosion investigations, diagnoses and troubleshoots of corrosion complicated/chronic issues and propose the mitigations measures.
Familiarity with laboratory experimental work and requirements/standards during corrosion investigations.
Previous experience working in Saudi or the Middle East advantageous.
Ability to make independent decisions in the planning, organizing and coordination of solutions to complex problems.
Competent with the ability to lead a team of discipline engineers and provide engineering support.
Enthusiasm and drive to stay abreast of new trends and technologies in your field.
Proactive, flexible and dedicated team player, able to achieve goals.
Enjoys working in a multidisciplinary team essential.
Excellent communication skills in English with the ability to engage and work effectively with team players from various cultures.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop good working relationships
