Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a project costing structure

  • Establish standard procedures for budgeting, tracking, and reporting costs

  • Create simple and effective cost tracking tools in excel

  • Prepare project budgets based on BOQ and tender documents

  • Break down budgets into activities and cost categories

  • Support management in pricing and cost estimation

  • Track daily, weekly, and monthly project costs

  • Compare Budget vs Actual and highlight variances

  • Monitor key cost areas:

  • Identify cost overruns and analyze root causes

  • Provide corrective recommendations to project teams

  • Ensure timely action to control excess spending

  • Prepare Monthly cost reports, Project profitability reports, Cost variance reports

  • Present insights to management for decision-making

  • Verify supplier and subcontractor invoices

  • Ensure alignment between work completed and payments claimed

  • Prevent overbilling and duplicate payments

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting / Finance / Commerce

  • Professional certifications (added advantage): CMA / ACCA / CPA (added advantage)

  • Minimum 4–7 years of experience as a Cost Accountant

  • Mandatory experience in Construction / Civil / Infrastructure projects

  • UAE or GCC experience is highly preferred
