Job Summary

The Cost Control Manager is responsible for managing, monitoring, and controlling project costs throughout the construction lifecycle. This role ensures adherence to approved budgets, conducts cost forecasting, oversees financial reporting, and supports decision-making through detailed cost analysis. The position requires strong analytical abilities, attention to detail, and solid experience in construction cost management.

Key Responsibilities

Budgeting & Cost Estimation

• Prepare project budgets and cost estimates in coordination with project and engineering teams.
• Assess financial feasibility and ensure alignment with contract requirements.

Cost Monitoring & Reporting

• Track project expenditures against approved budgets and analyze variances.
• Prepare cost reports, cash flow forecasts, productivity reports, and reconciliation statements.
• Provide early warnings on potential overruns and propose corrective actions.

Change Management

• Evaluate cost impacts of design changes, variations, and claims.
• Update budgets and forecasts based on approved scope changes.
• Coordinate with project teams to validate and finalize variations.

Vendor & Procurement Cost Control

• Support RFQs, bid evaluations, and cost comparisons.
• Monitor subcontractor and supplier costs and ensure compliance with contract terms.
• Review and certify invoices, payment applications, and cost-related documents.

Cost Optimization & Risk Analysis

• Identify cost risks and develop mitigation strategies.
• Conduct value engineering to optimize project costs while maintaining quality.
• Recommend cost-saving initiatives and best practices.

Stakeholder Coordination

• Collaborate with project managers, procurement, engineering, and finance teams to align cost objectives.
• Advise management on cost-related risks and financial impacts.

Forecasting & Analysis

• Maintain cost forecasts and financial projections for ongoing and upcoming projects.
• Analyze cost trends and provide recommendations for improvement.
• Conduct post-project evaluations to highlight lessons learned.

Compliance & Documentation

• Ensure compliance with company policies, contractual terms, and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain organized and accurate cost records, reports, and documentation.

Contract Administration & Final Accounts

• Review payment certificates and ensure conformity with contract conditions.
• Support preparation of final accounts and ensure closure of all cost commitments.
