Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Supervise and lead the credit control team to ensure effective management of accounts receivable and timely collection of outstanding debts.
- Monitor customer credit limits, assess creditworthiness, and recommend adjustments as necessary to minimize financial risk.
- Develop, implement, and maintain credit control policies and procedures in alignment with company objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Review and analyze aging reports, identify delinquent accounts, and initiate appropriate collection actions.
- Coordinate with sales, finance, and customer service teams to resolve disputes and ensure seamless communication regarding credit issues.
- Prepare regular reports on credit status, outstanding receivables, and collection performance for management review.
- Conduct periodic credit reviews and risk assessments for existing and new customers.
- Negotiate payment plans and settlements with customers while maintaining positive business relationships.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, audit requirements, and legal regulations related to credit management.
- Train, mentor, and evaluate team members to foster professional development and enhance departmental performance.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Bachelor s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 5-7 years of progressive experience in credit control, accounts receivable, or financial supervision.
- Proven experience in supervising or leading a credit control or accounts receivable team.
- Strong understanding of credit risk assessment, collection processes, and financial analysis.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills for dealing with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency in using financial management software and MS Office applications, especially Excel.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement credit policies and procedures.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Solid understanding of relevant legal and regulatory requirements in credit management.
