Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Aggressively participate in freight rates negotiations by working closely with carriers and liners, transporters, agents and counterparts to acquire the best rates in the market and increase the profitability for the organisation.
Create quotes for ad-hoc or long term offers
Effective communication with all external stakeholders such as carriers and shipping lines and communicate any changes in the industry to internal stakeholders in SGL.
Support the network in all RFQs and Tenders.
Address issues and concerns raised by team members relating to pricing suggestions.
Work closely with the sales and operations teams to plan and organise SOP’s, SLA to ensure seamless delivery of service in line with customer requirement.
Maintain detailed quote records and used to evaluate trends and pricing decisions.
Help determine new services that we can develop by understanding the needs of the customers and keeping an eye on market including competitors’ activity, port developments and trade lanes growth
Develop and build solid relationships with carriers, agents and counterparts, at all levels, seeking best fit to secure the necessary rates and space agreements.
Develop and manage customer/agent relationships to ensure business growth.
Adherence to the Quality system , ISO 9001,14001 & GDP standards and Health and safety policies.
Desired Candidate Profile
Possesses a Bachelor's degree
Demonstrates 2-3 years of experience in customer service, pricing, or a related role, with a proven track record. in freight forwarding.
Exhibits strong analytical skills, adept at interpreting data and drawing meaningful conclusions to create pricing strategies.
Computer skills (particularly in MS Word, Excel and Outlook)
Excellent verbal and written communication in English.
Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team
