Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Customs Clearance Operations
- Manage end-to-end import/export customs clearance processes in compliance with Egyptian regulations.
- Prepare and submit all required documentation (e.g., ACID, invoices, bills of lading, COO) via the NAFEZA system.
- Accurately classify goods under HS codes and calculate duties/taxes based on current Egyptian tariff rates.
- Specialized Knowledge
- Handle customs procedures for the Suez Economic Zone (TEDA Industrial Park), including bonded warehousing and duty exemptions.
- Resolve customs-related disputes, inspections, or delays promptly through effective coordination with local authorities.
- Compliance & Problem-Solving
- Stay updated on changes in customs laws, import restrictions, and trade agreements
- Provide solutions for urgent clearance issues
- Stakeholder Coordination
- Liaise with customs officials, freight forwarders, and clients to ensure smooth clearance operations.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Basic Requirements
- Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in Egyptian import/export customs clearance.
- Prior exposure to the Suez Economic Zone (TEDA Industrial Park) is highly preferred.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in the NAFEZA system and ACID preparation.
- Strong knowledge of Egyptian customs regulations, HS code classification, and duty/tax calculations.
- Language:
- Fluent in English (written and spoken); Chinese proficiency is a plus.
- Soft Skills:
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Established relationships with Egyptian customs authorities is an advantage.
