Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

A leading DMC company in Dubai is seeking a skilled and analytical Data Analyst / BI Specialist with strong expertise in Power BI and additional experience in Tableau or QlikView. The role focuses on developing interactive dashboards, building complex datasets, and integrating data from various sources such as Excel, APIs, and databases. The ideal candidate will support data-driven decision-making and contribute to the company’s long-term BI scalability.


Data Integration & Preparation

  • Create large datasets by consolidating and transforming multiple Excel tables, ensuring accuracy and consistency
  • Extract and integrate data from APIs, using API documentation and relevant tools.
  • Connect to and query databases (SQL Server, MySQL, or similar) to retrieve, prepare, and refresh data.

BI Development

  • Design, build, and maintain advanced Power BI dashboards with interactive visualizations and dynamic reporting capabilities.
  • Apply data modeling, DAX calculations, and measures for performance optimization in Power BI.
  • Support BI development in other tools such as Tableau or QlikView as required.

Data Analysis

  • Perform complex data analysis, using Excel (nested formulas, pivot tables, advanced functions, array formulas, and large dataset handling).
  • Identify trends, anomalies, and actionable insights from large and complex datasets.

Collaboration & Reporting

  • Partner with stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and translate them into effective BI solutions.
  • Ensure data accuracy, reliability, and timely delivery of reports.

Desired Candidate Profile

Technical Expertise

  • Proven experience with Power BI (data modeling, DAX, advanced visualizations).
  • Exposure to other BI tools such as Tableau or QlikView.
  • Strong Excel skills, inclduing handling large datasets with multiple complex formulas.
  • Solid understanding of APIs and ability to interpret and work with API documentation.
  • Proficiency in SQL and database querying.

Analytical Skills

  • Strong problem-solving and data interpretation abilities.
  • Ability to work with incomplete or unstructured data and transform it into meaningful insights.

Other Competencies

  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to data quality.
  • Strong communication skills to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
