Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Responsible for technically supporting multiple databases that run Company-wide business applications which are accessed by multiple departments.ResponsibilitiesReviews, develops, and designs data models using standard diagramming techniques; creates logical data models and translates into physical database structures that integrate with existing or proposed database structures.Monitors relational databases to optimize database performance, resource use, and physical implementations of databases; addresses a variety of database integration issues including migration between disparate databases, integration, maintenance/conversion, capacity planning issues, and new applications.Provide architectural expertise, direction, and assistance in technology & vendor selection. Conducts growth analysis and capacity planning and develops capital and operating budget proposals.Researches, evaluates, installs, configures, and troubleshoots all hardware, peripherals, and equipment necessary to meet integrated systems objectives. Research and write responses to technical sections of requests for information (RFIs) and requests for proposal (RFPs)Debugging Application & Server performance issues, and monitoring servers along with resident applications. Liaise with vendor on resolving the issues.Lead in administration & testing of datacenter backup, recovery, & Disaster Recovery technologies.Maintains currency of knowledge with respect to relevant state-of-the-art technology, equipment, and/or systems and creates, procures, and maintains various database & systems related documents such as manuals and programmers handbooks.Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned including 24 hour on-call support.QualificationsBachelor s degree in computer science or information technologyA minimum of 5 years experience in a medium/large environment.Industry certification such as Oracle Database 11g /12c administrator, MCP SQL Server etc.Knowledge in Windows network environment is a big advantage. (windows servers, Active directory,DNS,LDAP, DHCP)Experience in interpret data models and to develop database structures.Experience with various distribution of Linux and virtualization systems.Knowledge of systems growth analysis and capacity planning processes and techniques.Knowledge of data security and disaster recovery systems and procedures.Ability to plan, implement, test, and troubleshoot system software.Experienced in hardware & software installation, maintenance and troubleshootingAbility to develop and manipulate large, complex data sets.Ability to work on a scheduled 24-hour on-call basis
