Key Responsibilities

• Assist Provost and Vice Chancellor Academic as required to deliver Academy s strategic priorities.
• Engage with College staff and Academy management decisions and deliver Academy s Strategic Priorities in the College by leading from the front while demonstrating the leadership behaviours, and always working within the values of the Academy.
• Management, leadership and effective deployment of the College s human, physical and financial resources in line with academic plans, budgeting, supply and demand.
• Responsible for the College s academic performance in delivering a sustainable programme portfolio and an up-to-date curriculum that ensures student success and progression to highly skilled careers and further studies. Provide leadership in developing new program in the College.
• Responsible for the College s academic performance related to research outputs and activities including successful research projects, skills development, industrial development, demonstrable impact, supervision and for bringing in research-informed-teaching to the classroom.
• Responsible for the College s academic KPIs by maintaining oversight of all academic committees and sub-committees within the governance structure.
• Ensure all regulatory requirements are fulfilled and all national and international accreditation requirements are complied with.
• Engage in faculty recruitment process and staff development.
• Responsible for ensuring all activities in the College is run efficiently and sustainably by working with relevant Academy internal professional support and external stakeholders.
• Teach a set of subjects as per contractual obligation and in consultation with the relevant Head of Program using a suitable style while satisfying the requirements of the Academy. In such capacity ensure all requirements for academic teaching are fulfilled including the following:
  
  • Use appropriate, innovative and effective pedagogic approach in the classroom. Deliver lectures and lead seminar groups as appropriate.
• Participate in the examination/ assessment process including the setting of papers, preparing marking schemes, agreeing marks with other staff. Use appropriate and innovative forms of assessment practices to enhance learning and teaching.
• Provide timely, constructive, formative and comprehensive feedback to students using all forms of communication.
• Update own discipline knowledge to develop research informed teaching. Bring latest research-based knowledge in the classroom. Conduct research for career development, aligning with the Academy s ambition to be research-active institution.
• Be prepared to travel as required and occasionally work outside of the contractual standard working hours.
