Job Description

The Demand & Supply Planner in the retail sector plays a critical role in balancing demand and supply to optimize inventory levels and improve customer satisfaction. This position involves strategic planning, analysis, and coordination with various departments to ensure that the right products are available at the right time and location to meet customer demand. As a key member of the supply chain team, the planner will work closely with sales, marketing, production, and logistics to forecast demand, develop supply plans, and manage inventory levels. The ideal candidate will have a keen analytical mind, excellent problem-solving skills, and a strong understanding of retail dynamics. This role requires the ability to make data-driven decisions and adapt quickly to changing market conditions to support the company's goals in service level, inventory turns, and cost efficiency.


Responsibilities
  • Analyze historical sales data to forecast future demand with accuracy and precision.
  • Develop and implement demand planning processes for all retail products.
  • Create and manage inventory replenishment strategies to optimize stock levels.
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to incorporate promotional plans into forecasts.
  • Adjust forecasts and supply plans to align with real-time market changes and trends.
  • Monitor KPIs for demand forecasting accuracy and work on continuous process improvement.
  • Coordinate with logistics to ensure timely distribution of goods to retail locations.
  • Conduct regular demand reviews with stakeholders to align on supply strategy.
  • Utilize demand planning software and tools to enhance forecasting capabilities.
  • Manage relationships with suppliers to ensure a reliable supply chain.
  • Prepare and present reports on demand and supply chain performance to senior management.
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with supply chain disruptions proactively.

Requirements
  • Bachelor s degree in supply chain management, logistics, business, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in demand planning or supply chain management in a retail environment.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in demand planning software and Excel.
  • Excellent communication skills for cross-departmental collaboration and reporting.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to market dynamics.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail in data analysis.
  • Knowledge of retail industry trends and their impact on demand and supply.
