Job Title: Dental Assistant

Location: Dubai
Type: Locum (Candidates must be on their own visa – family/husband/spouse visa)

Main Purpose of the Job

Supports the delivery of high‑quality dental care by performing clinical and administrative procedures in compliance with the Dental Practice Act and within the approved scope of practice.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist dentists during dental procedures, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow.

• Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials following infection‑control and sterilization standards.

• Welcome patients, prepare them for treatment, and provide support throughout their visit.

• Capture and record patient medical histories, treatment details, and other required documentation accurately.

• Handle dental instruments and materials such as impression materials, cements, and restorative equipment.

• Take and process dental radiographs (if licensed), following safety protocols.

• Ensure proper sterilization, disinfection, and maintenance of dental instruments and equipment.

• Maintain inventory of dental supplies and ensure treatment rooms are adequately stocked.

• Adhere to patient safety standards and clinical guidelines at all times.

• Provide pre‑ and post‑treatment instructions to patients under dentist supervision.

• Support administrative tasks such as appointment scheduling, patient flow management, and filing when needed.

Required Education

Essential:

• Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS), Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD), or Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS), or

• Diploma in Dental Assisting or Dental Nursing, or

• Registered Nurse / Assistant Nurse meeting dental licensure criteria.

Required Experience

• Essential: Minimum of 2 years of experience as a qualified Dental Assistant.

• Desired: Previous experience in the UAE in a dental assistant role.

Required Job Skills & Knowledge

• Basic Arabic language skills.

• Strong knowledge of patient safety standards and infection‑control protocols.

• Computer literacy, including MS Office applications.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
