Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Assist the dentist during procedures by preparing the necessary instruments and materials, ensuring a smooth workflow.
  • Maintain a sterile environment by following strict infection control protocols and properly sterilizing instruments.
  • Manage patient records with accuracy and confidentiality, ensuring all information is up-to-date and accessible.
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care, empowering them to maintain their dental health.
  • Schedule appointments efficiently, optimizing the dentist's time while accommodating patient preferences and needs.
  • Support the management of dental supplies by monitoring inventory levels and placing orders when necessary.
  • Conduct preliminary assessments of patients, including taking medical histories and vital signs to aid the dentist.
  • Assist in the administration of anesthesia and sedation, ensuring patient comfort and safety throughout the procedure.
  • Perform basic laboratory tasks, such as preparing dental materials and assisting with the fabrication of dental appliances.
  • Stay updated on dental technology and practices by participating in continuous education and training opportunities.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Completion of a recognized dental nursing program or equivalent education is essential.
  • A valid dental nurse certification or registration with a relevant professional body is required.
  • A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a dental practice is preferred, with exposure to various procedures.
  • Experience in a fast-paced clinical setting, demonstrating the ability to multitask under pressure is important.
  • Bilingual candidates are preferred, with proficiency in English and a second language enhancing patient communication.
  • Strong technical skills in using dental equipment and software are necessary for efficient practice operations.
  • Exceptional communication skills are vital for building rapport with patients and collaborating with the dental team.
