Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Oversee financial planning and analysis for construction projects, ensuring alignment with overall company strategy and profitability goals.
- Manage the preparation and review of project budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis, providing insightful commentary on financial performance.
- Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes for construction projects, guaranteeing accuracy and adherence to accounting standards.
- Collaborate with project managers and operational teams to understand project financials and provide financial support to drive project success.
- Monitor cash flow and working capital for construction projects, implementing strategies to optimize liquidity and minimize financial risks.
- Review and approve construction project invoices and payments, ensuring compliance with contractual terms and internal policies.
- Conduct financial modeling and scenario analysis to evaluate the financial viability of new construction projects and investment opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and reporting requirements specific to the construction industry.
- Develop and implement financial controls and procedures to mitigate financial risks and safeguard company assets within construction operations.
- Mentor and develop junior finance staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development within the construction finance team.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Possesses a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, providing a strong foundation in financial principles.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in construction finance or accounting in the UAE, showcasing a deep understanding of the industry.
- Holds a professional accounting certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CMA), demonstrating a commitment to professional standards and ethics.
- Has a strong grasp of construction accounting principles, including percentage-of-completion accounting and cost accounting methods.
- Proficient in financial modeling and analysis techniques, capable of evaluating project profitability and financial performance.
- Possesses strong analytical and problem-solving skills, enabling effective financial decision-making in a dynamic environment.
