Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Develop and refine cable designs, ensuring they meet specific performance criteria, safety regulations, and industry standards, including detailed 3D modeling and 2D drawings.
- Conduct thorough electrical and mechanical analysis of cable systems, utilizing simulation software to predict performance and identify potential design flaws, especially for high-voltage applications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, procurement, and quality assurance, to ensure designs are manufacturable, cost-effective, and meet all stakeholder requirements.
- Select appropriate materials and components for cable designs, considering factors such as electrical properties, environmental resistance, and cost-effectiveness.
- Oversee the testing and validation of cable prototypes, conducting experiments and analyzing data to verify design performance and compliance with specifications.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Exhibits a deep understanding of cable construction, materials, and manufacturing processes, including experience with high-voltage cable systems.
- Proficient in using design software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar, for 3D modeling and 2D drafting, enhancing design capabilities.
- Demonstrates strong analytical skills, including the ability to perform electrical and mechanical analysis using simulation tools, ensuring design integrity.
- Exhibits a strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in designs, documentation, and testing, contributing to overall product quality.
- Possesses a strong understanding of relevant industry standards, such as IEC, IEEE, and UL, ensuring designs comply with regulations.
