Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Conduct engineering studies related to OHL and accessories to provide clear and well-supported recommendations.
- Prepare clear and understandable OHL and accessories scope of work for transmission requirements in tenders.
- Review amendments for technical aspects and reply to technical queries raised by bidders during tendering stage.
- Review the technical offers including deviations submitted by bidders and resolve technical clarifications.
- Review the technical recommendation report.
- Review and comment on design drawings, documents, BIM Model, and vendor approval requests to ensure quality and compliance with DEWA's specification and scope of works.
- Finalize non-compliance notes on submittals.
- Attend factory inspections to ensure product conformity with DEWA approval/specification and international standards.
- Document inspection results and observations noticed during inspections.
- Review compliance statement and provide recommendations for issuance of Dispatch Clearance.
- Coordinate and participate in technical, design, and progress meetings to resolve technical problems and ensure smooth running of projects.
- Liaise with DEWA user departments to offer solutions on technical issues to ensure compliance with DEWA’s requirements.
- Raise change requests on existing technical specifications for future turnkey projects to enhance optimization and standardization.
- Support in assessing product conformity and validity inline with approved qualification methodology.
- Assist in investigating and addressing issues reported through failure feedback mechanism.
- Conduct site visits and site quality audits to verify executed work compliance with DEWA approvals.
- Attend site investigations for failed equipment at site.
- Continuously innovate and fulfill requirements of driving Corporate Excellence.
- Facilitate, transfer, and share knowledge with colleagues and subordinates.
- Ensure non-disclosure of confidential information during and after employment at DEWA.
- Follow and adhere to the OH&S Management System Manual as per DEWA's safety standards.
- Perform any other tasks assigned by the reporting manager.
Desired Candidate Profile
Education
Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or Diploma in Electrical Engineering
Experience/Qualification
Minimum 4 years of experience for Bachelors degree holder & Minimum 7 years of experience for Diploma holder in high voltage transmission field, design, engineering, quality control and testing of OHL and accessories
Strong problem solving skills to propose technical solutions
Strong Knowledge in International Standards (IEEE, IEC, BS)
Proficiency in technical report writing
Preferred related experience in engineering design software’s (i.e. BIM, Revit, PLS CADD)
