Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Conduct engineering studies related to Transformer & Reactor field when required, to provide clear and well-supported recommendations based on the results of the performed studies.
- Prepare a clear and understandable Transformer & Reactor scope of work for transmission projects in line with the issued Project Parameter Report to ensure coverage of DEWA's requirements in the new tenders and to avoid any ambiguity or misunderstanding in the scope of work by bidders.
- Review amendments for technical aspects and reply to technical queries raised by bidders during tendering stage.
- Review the technical offers including deviations submitted by bidders highlight and resolve technical clarification during tendering process.
- Review of the technical recommendation report.
- Review and comment on design drawings, documents, BIM Model and vendors submitted by contractors or consultants to ensure quality, compliance with DEWA's specification, qualification methodology, and scope of works.
- Finalize non-compliance note on submittals.
- Attend factory inspections whenever required to ensure the products are in line with DEWA approval/specification and international standards.
- Ensure proper documentation of the inspection results and document the observations noticed during the inspection.
- Review compliance statement and provide recommendations for issuance of Dispatch Clearance.
- Coordinate and participate in various technical, design and progress meetings to resolve raised technical problems and to ensure the smooth running of projects.
- Liaise with DEWA user departments to offer solutions on technical issues raised to ensure compliance to DEWA’s requirements.
- Raise change requests on the existing technical specification to be used for future Turnkey projects in terms of optimization, previously agreed deviations, standardization efforts, actual market situation, and lessons learned from past projects to avoid any ambiguity or misunderstanding in future contracts.
- Support in Assessing product conformity and validity inline with the approved qualification methodology and ensure the quality and compliance of the product with DEWA's specification and international standards.
- Assist in investigating and addressing issues reported through the failure feedback mechanism.
- Conduct site visits and site quality audits, as and when required, to verify the executed work is in line with DEWA approvals and obtain feedback from stakeholders for future consideration in new projects.
- Attend site investigations with the departments concerned, as and when required, for the failed equipment at site.
- Responsible for continuously innovating and fulfilling the requirements of driving Corporate Excellence.
- Facilitating, transferring and sharing knowledge with colleagues and subordinates.
- To ensure non-disclosure of confidential information to anyone within or outside the Authority, during or after employment in DEWA.
- To follow and adhere to the OH&S Management System Manual as per DEWA's safety standards.
- To perform any other tasks assigned by the reporting manager.
Desired Candidate Profile
Education
Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or Diploma in Electrical Engineering
Experience/Qualification
Minimum 4 years experience in high voltage transmission field, design, engineering, quality control and testing of Transformers for Bachelors degree holder & Minimum 7 years experience Diploma holder
Problem solving skills to propose technical solutions
Knowledge in International Standards (IEEE, IEC, BS)
Proficiency in technical report writing
