Roles & Responsibilities
What You'll Be Doing:
Manage and coordinate all design activities across regional stormwater projects in Al Dhafra region
Review and verify consultant design submissions for technical accuracy, constructability, and compliance with DMT requirements.
Oversee multidisciplinary design coordination (civil, mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and environmental).
Manage the design review process and ensure timely resolution of design queries and comments.
Maintain design risk registers and ensure mitigation strategies are implemented.
Lead and chair design coordination meetings with consultants, contractors, and internal /external stakeholders.
Support procurement and tendering through design input, technical clarifications, and scope validation.
Ensure adherence to program governance, reporting, and design delivery schedules.
Provide leadership on design standards, innovation, and sustainability compliance.
Liaise with DMT and other authorities for design approvals and permits.
Ability to lead multidisciplinary design teams and drive performance toward program goals.
Skilled in developing and managing design schedules aligned with project milestones.
Proactively identifies design risks and integrates mitigation strategies into project delivery.
Understands the cost implications of design decisions and contributes to value engineering processes.
Strong communication skills to coordinate effectively with DMT, consultants, contractors, and internal PMC functions.
Ability to assess and manage design variations and their impact on cost, time, and quality.
Ensures compliance with project quality systems, review protocols, and governance requirement
What Required Skills You'll Bring
Bachelor s Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering (Master s preferred).
10 15 years of experience in design management or consultancy roles within infrastructure or stormwater/drainage systems.
Strong knowledge of stormwater, drainage, and infrastructure design standards.
Experience in hydrology, hydraulics and sustainability compliance.
Proven ability to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and manage complex design interfaces.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
