Design Manager Job Description

We are currently looking for a Design Manager to join our team. Successful candidates must hold a degree in
Architecture or Engineering (preferably Mechanical or Electrical) with 5+ years of experience. Chartered
certification or equivalent is a plus.

Locaton: Dubai

Core Responsibilities

• Oversee design works between engineering disciplines and architectural design

• Chair design meetings and ensure parties are aligned on their design requirements

• Lead design discussions to steer conversations in a productive approach

• Examine, prepare and, assess works programmes/time schedules

• Ensure all parties are delivering their respective scopes in a timely and correct manner

• Prepare weekly/monthly progress reports to update on works progress

• Must be able to comprehend design approach for various engineering disciplines to be able to assess
quality and completeness of designs as well as report on their progress.

• Raise/flag any potential risks, delays, technical issues in order to allow the team to address such risks
in a proactive and timely manner

• Support in preparing technical and financial proposals for new projects/opportunities

Qualifications/Background

Essential

• Bachelor degree in Architecture or Engineering (preferable Mechanical or Electrical)

• Minimum 5 years experience working locally (UAE)

• Familiar with relevant International Codes of Practice as well as Local Authorities rules and regulations

• Familiar with large scale multi-disciplinary design projects

• Skilled in Autodesk Suite (AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, and BIM360)

• Must be familiar with working in a professional BIM environment with an understading of different
LOD levels/deliverables

Preferable

• Construction site supervision experience

• Skilled in Primavera P6 scheduling

• Flexibility to travel for work as may be required from time to time

• Chartership or professional membership from a qualifying body

• Dubai Municipality registered Engineer

• Skilled in Bluebeam Revu
