We are hiring a Design-Technical Co-Ordinator in our Abu Dhabi office.
Role Purpose
Design-Technical Co-Ordinator shall play a vital role in reviewing the tender documents and identifying any scope gaps when compared with Clients ITT and Statutory requirements. He/She will be responsible in maintaining or obtaining clarifications for discrepancy between the tender documents i.e., drawings / specifications etc. Close liaison with Estimators I Procurement team in ensuring the quotes received from various vendors are in compliance with the tender documents and any deviation is highlighted to the team and or clarified as part of tender submission.
Key Responsibilities
Have Knowledge of Statutory Authority Regulations (ODA, Trakhees, OM ,JAFZA ,etc. ) to ensure complete compliance with sustainability, safety and building regulations.
Review the technical specifications, drawings, B.O.Q and prepare a technical report/presentation for the Tender (for internal use only).
Carryout site visit for the bid and list down any major constraints.
Compare the B.O.Q items with regards to their description in the bill, drawing and specification, act on these items in case of discrepancy. (e.g., sending queries to Client/ Engineer).
Flag items in the B.O.Q, Specification, Drawings which do not seem to match the current method/ specification being followed by the company/ industry and may impact the price.
Identify Scope gaps for items detailed in drawings/specifications or required as per statutory requirements but not detailed in the tender BOO and accordingly seek clarification from Client/Engineer.
Review and respond to technical queries raised by Estimators, Quantity Surveyors, Supply Chain etc.
Prepare and Maintain Master Tender Query Schedule.
Investigate Value Engineering options and recommend solutions, based on cost, quality, and availability.
Review quotations from Supply Chain for all the items which involve engineering inputs and ensure full compliance with project requirements
Desired Candidate Profile
Qualifications & Experience
Qualification - Degree in Civil Engineering / Quantity Surveying
Experience - Minimum 5-7 Years
Preference - Project Execution Experience with Minimum 2-3 Years working with the Estimation Team.
Skills & Competencies
Liaise with procurement regarding suppliers and subcontractors, advise on vendors clarifications and exclusions.
Liaise with external consultants/technical team.
Prepare Schedule of Qualifications, Clarifications, Deviations as part of Tender Submission.
