Director of Events & Catering Objective: Successful candidate will overtake the responsibility of managing and organizing all the meetings, major annual events (like Ramadan, Eid, etc.) and catering functions at the resort in coordination with respective departments. He will also have the responsibility of leading, directing and managing concerned personnel towards planning and executing such functions successfully. The promotion of certain events and functions will be part of his duties, as well as drawing and abiding by budget and resources available as directed by the head of department. Requirements: Team oriented person Strong interpersonal & communication skills Strong leader with top organizational skills Passionate about the job Knowledge of creating & implementing action plans for specific functions & events Ability to manage resort resources and assets Ability to communicate clearly with respective departments Excellent analytical capabilities and computer literate Knowledge of budgeting, finance and forecasting Assertive, Independent with excellent social and organizational skills Ability to create & implement standardized procedure for his department Thorough knowledge & understanding of all resort departments Hands on approach is a must and sees throughout functions & events to ensure success per resort parameter Good knowledge of the hospitality, leisure, conferences & meetings market in the Gulf countries Pre-opening, reorganization or restructuring experience is a must Worked previously in multi-nation and diverse organizations Good knowledge of Fidelio Opera PMS Catering Experience: Minimum of 5 to 7 years work experience in hotel management positions in 5 Star International Hotel/Resort At least 3 years experience in sales positions with a proven track of achievements & results. Experience in the Middle East region is compulsory and knowledge/exposure to Saudi Arabia is a very strong advantage. Between 28 to 35 years old. Arabic speaker preferred, with a professional command of English language. Male or Female. Overview of Role: The position reports to the Director of Sales & Marketing and will liaise with respective departments as needed for the coordination of different functions. The chosen candidate will also have to work closely with all of the resort's departments for better execution of their promotions and programs.
