OVERVIEW OF THE JOB
The Procurement Director is responsible for overseeing all Procurement and Inventory Management activities at DTCM and its entities, including the development and delivery of the Procurement strategy.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Lead the development and implementation of a strategy for the Procurement team, which is aligned to DTCM s strategic objectives.
• Oversee the development of the Annual Procurement Plan for all spend managed by the Procurement department in DTCM.
• Monitor implementation of the Annual Procurement Plan and budget throughout the year.
• Provide ongoing management reporting on the implementation of the plan to the senior leadership team
• Identify opportunities to improve procurement effectiveness and developing an action plan for implementation in close coordination with senior leadership
• Direct the activities of all functions involved in the planning, procurement, warehousing and control of materials and services at DTCM.
• Oversee the development and implementation of category strategies and sourcing plans for key spend areas including Commercial, Festivals, Events, Campaigns, and Marketing.
• Enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of Procurement activities across the business in line with tourism and government practices.
• Lead and oversee the relationship management of key Procurement customers within DTCM, DCTCM and DFRE.
• Supervise the Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) activity with strategic and critical suppliers in conjunction with internal stakeholders.
• Manage and direct day-to-day activities of direct reports, to ensure timely delivery of procurement activity.
• Provide ongoing career development, support and coaching for direct reports.
• Provide feedback to team, and identify need based training requirements for direct reports.
• Ensure up-to-date procurement policies and procedures (aligned to best practice), and ensure conformity with policy requirements.

• Bachelor s Degree or equivalent with focus in Business / Operations
• Recognized Procurement /Supply Chain certification (CIPS or equivalent Procurement qualification)
• Master s Degree
• Required Experience & Skills
• Minimum of 12-15 years procurement experience gained with a recognized organization(s)
• Extensive experience and proven success in managing a high performing team
• Previous experience in leading a Procurement function
• Experience of working under pressure in a high profile marketing / event management environment
• Experience in leading practice sourcing and procurement methods and processes to include category management and strategic sourcing
• Strong communication skills (presentation and written communications) familiar with operating at senior management/executive levels
• Ability to develop procurement and departmental strategies linked to corporate objectives
• Computer literacy with strong skills in reporting applications (Word and PowerPoint) and good knowledge of finance systems and Excel
• Understanding of international, regional and local supply markets and working practices
• Excellent commercial/business acumen
