Job Description

The Department of Health (DOH) is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Pharmacist to join our team of healthcare professionals. This role is essential in ensuring the effective delivery of health services to the community, with a strong focus on patient safety and accurate medication management. Responsibilities
  • Accurately dispense prescriptions to patients, ensuring compliance with relevant guidelines and regulations.

  • Participate in the procurement and inventory management of pharmaceutical supplies and medications.
  • Conduct medication therapy management services to optimize therapeutic outcomes for patients.
  • Review and interpret prescriptions, ensuring the appropriateness of drug therapy and dosages.
  • Engage in the preparation and compounding of specialty medications as required.
  • Provide education and training sessions for healthcare providers and the public on medication use.
  • Monitor patient outcomes from medication regimes, identifying adverse effects or interactions.
  • Maintain accurate records of medications, supplies, and patient counseling sessions.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop comprehensive care plans.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws governing pharmacy practice.
  • Engage in continuous professional development and education to stay current with medical practices.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy from an accredited institution is required.
  • Valid state Pharmacist license with up-to-date certification and registration.
  • Demonstrated experience in a healthcare or hospital pharmacy setting preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of pharmacology, drug administration, and pharmaceutical calculations.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to educate and inform.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team environment.
  • Proficient in using pharmacy management software and electronic health record systems.
