Draftsman DIRECT SOURCE ENGINEERING - L L C

We are seeking a skilled CAD Draftsman with strong experience in Audio Visual (AV), CCTV, Security, and Home Automation systems.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing detailed shop drawings, layouts, schematics, and as-built documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project specifications and standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and update detailed AutoCAD drawings for Audio Visual, CCTV, Security, and Home Automation systems.
• Develop schematic diagrams, rack layouts, equipment elevations, and cable routing drawings.
• Coordinate with project engineers and site teams to ensure drawings reflect actual installation and integration requirements.
• Generate as-built drawings after project completion.
• Maintain drawing files and ensure proper version control and documentation.
• Review design inputs and identify any technical discrepancies before final submission.
• Ensure compliance with company CAD standards, design guidelines, and best practices.
• Collaborate with other trades (electrical, mechanical, architectural) to ensure coordinated system layouts.

Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical / Electronics / Telecommunications Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in drafting for ELV systems (AV, CCTV, Access Control, Home Automation).
• Proficient in AutoCAD.
• Familiar with AV signal flow, rack layouts, and system schematics.
• Knowledge of Crestron, AMX, Control4, or KNX systems is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
• Good communication and coordination skills with engineering and site teams.

Preferred Skills

• Understanding of extra low-voltage wiring and installation standards.
• Experience preparing device schedules and cable lists.
• Familiarity with project documentation procedures and engineering workflows.
• Ability to interpret architectural and electrical drawings.
