• To liaise with Customer/Operator personnel and the Project Engineer to ensure a high quality service is provided.
• To supervise the day to day well-site operational activities of the contracts being served.
• To maintain good customer relationship on the well-site
Description of Duties
Duties shall include, but should not be limited to, the following;
• Management of drilling fluid properties via chemical and physical treatment as dictated by the Customer/Operator mud programme.
• Supervise all mud treatment and ensure proper use and maintenance of solids control equipment.
• Co-ordinate third party/sub-contractor services at the well-site as contractually required.
• Forecast material requirements for well-site operations and liaise with Project Engineer and Distribution Manager to ensure timely purchase, preparation and delivery of sufficient stock.
• Ensure that an adequate rig site chemical inventory and an accurate record of supply and consumption is maintained and reported according to company and contractual requirements.
• Ensure provision of a complete, accurate and informative Daily Drilling Fluid Report in accordance with company procedures and contractual requirements.
• Ensure provision of a complete, accurate and informative Well Summary Report in accordance with company procedures and contractual requirements.
• Ensure proper inventory of offshore testing equipment and chemicals is maintained and that all drilling fluid test equipment is well maintained and regularly calibrated according to procedures.
• Make regular contact with well-site Customer/Operator
• Attend all company and operator organized QHSE meetings
• Ensure correct and appropriate use of company products, services and resources.
• Assist with trouble-shooting mud related problems at the rig-site including liaison with Project Engineer and Technical Department as required.
• Ensure adequate training of trainee mud engineers.
Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental
• Ensure implementation of the company's and the customer's Quality, Health & Safety and Environmental Policies, Procedures and Quality Plans.
• Maintain an active role in the identification of Opportunities For Improvement in the company's Quality, Health & Safety and Environmental Management Systems and where relevant assist in the implementation of these improvements.
• Monitor the effectiveness of the company's (and where appropriate the customer's) Quality, Health & Safety and Environmental Management Procedures and ensure all legal and contractual requirements are fulfilled to the customer's satisfaction.
-Minimum of 2 to 5 years of experience in Drilling Fluid
