Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Oversee the drilling operations on-site, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and regulatory compliance to minimize risks.
- Coordinate with engineering and geological teams to assess drilling plans and make real-time adjustments based on field conditions.
- Manage a diverse crew, providing leadership and training to maintain high performance and morale throughout the drilling process.
- Implement and monitor drilling performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement to optimize efficiency and reduce costs.
- Conduct regular safety meetings and drills, fostering a culture of safety and encouraging proactive reporting of potential hazards.
- Ensure the proper maintenance and operation of drilling equipment, coordinating repairs and servicing as needed to avoid downtime.
- Prepare and maintain accurate documentation of drilling operations, including daily reports, incident logs, and compliance records.
- Liaise with contractors, vendors, and regulatory bodies to facilitate smooth operations and ensure all parties meet project requirements.
- Analyze drilling data and performance trends to provide insights for future projects and enhance decision-making processes.
- Drive initiatives for continuous improvement in drilling techniques and technologies, staying updated with industry advancements.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Geology, or a related field is essential for technical understanding.
- Certification as a Drilling Supervisor or equivalent from a recognized body, demonstrating commitment to safety and professionalism.
- A background in environmental compliance, ensuring that all drilling activities adhere to regulatory standards.
