Summary:

The Electronics Technician Communications Equipment FSR will provide communications-electronics equipment (CE) technical and maintenance support for systems and subsystems for fixed and mobile communications platforms for the Department of Defense (DOD) US Special Operations Forces (SOF). This is an OCONUS position to locations designated as Hazardous Duty by the U.S. Department of State.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position)

Provide communications-electronics equipment (CE) technical and maintenance support for systems and subsystems for fixed and mobile communications platforms for the Department of Defense (DOD) US Special Operations Forces (SOF).

Travel to Hazardous Duty areas and meet/maintain training and "Fit for Duty" requirements (specified health and physical requirements) as specified by the contract(s) and applicable U.S. Government directives (i.e.) CENTCOM Mod 12).

Recommend process improvements or procedure modifications

Determine types of tests to be performed

Initiate and prepare written equipment status reports

Communicate effectively with other technical personnel

Adhere to Safety and Security processes and procedures

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Supervisor responsibility when required. May be required to independently lead teams and ad-hoc work groups.
Minimum Qualifications: (To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.)

High School Diploma or GED required.

4+ years of relevant work experience; experience to include,

US military electronics training/experience,

C-E test equipment experience,

SOF Tactical or Shipboard radio (SATCOM, LOS and HF) operations/maintenance experience,

COMSEC equipment operations/maintenance experience,

Component level repair and soldering experience,

ECMS experience,

Strong KU band experience,

Experienced Motorola XTS/XTL portable and mobile radio operator and maintainer VOIP and IP networking experience,

INFOCOM Certified Technology Specialist preferred.

Valid U.S. tourist passport.

Active SECRET security clearance.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Ability to pass a medical prescreening for deployment

Ability to travel up to 90-100% of the time.

Ability to travel CONUS and OCONUS locations.

Ability to meet and maintain the certifications/qualifications for deployment travel to Hazardous Duty locations.

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)

Work Environment:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

The employee will normally work in a temperature-controlled office environment, with frequent exposure to electronic office equipment.

During visits to areas of operations, may be exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions. Is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise.
