Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement electrical instrumentation systems that meet industry standards and client specifications.

  • Perform detailed inspections and troubleshooting of electrical systems to ensure optimal performance and compliance.

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate instrumentation and control systems into larger projects.

  • Conduct risk assessments and ensure safety compliance in all electrical and instrumentation activities.

  • Professionals in this position handle design tasks like developing wiring diagrams, control panel layouts, and instrumentation schematics for HVAC components such as chillers, AHUs, and condensers. They perform load calculations, select electrical components and instruments, and program PLCs (like Siemens S7-400) for system automation, including redundancy features. Additional duties include preparing documentation like cause-and-effect diagrams, FAT/SAT procedures, and coordinating with clients and suppliers for project compliance.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • A bachelor’s degree in electrical or instrumentation engineering is typical, with 6-12 years of HVAC-specific experience. Certifications in PLC programming or MEP design add value, alongside the ability to manage full project cycles from specs to commissioning. Roles often suit those in engineering firms handling cargo, logistics, or building projects.

  • Strong proficiency in AutoCAD for drawings, knowledge of standards like ASHRAE and Modbus communication, and experience with HVAC controls are essential. Candidates need skills in troubleshooting, clash detection in BIM models, and ensuring safety regulations during installations. Familiarity with power loading lists and technical negotiations supports independent project execution.

  • Professional certifications such as Certified Control Systems Technician (CCST) or similar credentials are highly desirable.

  • Experience with PLC programming and SCADA systems is essential for effective system integration.
