The E&I Inspector is responsible for inspecting, monitoring, and verifying electrical and instrumentation construction activities to ensure strict compliance with project specifications, ADNOC standards, approved procedures, and international industry codes. The position ensures safe, quality-focused execution of E&I works across onshore plants, offshore platforms, brownfield/greenfield facilities, and associated infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

1. Inspection & Quality Assurance

Electrical Systems

  • Inspect installation of cables, trays, conduits, earthing/grounding systems, lighting, power panels, transformers, switchgear, motors, and other electrical equipment.
  • Verify electrical works against approved IFC drawings, SLDs, loop diagrams, schedules, and ADNOC specs.
  • Inspect termination, glanding, cable continuity, IR (Insulation Resistance) testing, torque checks, and megger testing.
  • Witness FAT/SAT, functional checks, and commissioning-level electrical testing.

Instrumentation Systems

  • Inspect installation of field instruments: transmitters, analyzers, switches, gauges, valves, junction boxes, marshalling cabinets, and control panels.
  • Verify loop checks, instrument calibration, signal testing, and instrument tubing/wiring installation.
  • Ensure proper installation of impulse lines, supports, hook-ups, and instrument air piping.
  • Witness continuity checks, calibration certificates, and functional verification tests.

2. Documentation & Reporting

  • Review and endorse Inspection Test Requests (ITRs/ITPs) and ensure contractor compliance with inspection stages.
  • Prepare inspection reports, punch lists, NCRs, SORs, and follow-up actions.
  • Maintain accurate QA/QC logs for electrical and instrumentation activities.
  • Support compilation of turnover dossiers, test packs, and commissioning packages.

3. Safety, Compliance & Risk Management

  • Enforce ADNOC HSE rules, ensuring compliance during energization, hot work, electrical isolation, and hazardous area activities.
  • Conduct safety walks and ensure proper LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) implementation.
  • Verify compliance for ATEX / Ex-proof equipment installation in classified zones.

4. Coordination & Communication

  • Coordinate with construction teams, QA/QC departments, commissioning groups, and client representatives.
  • Review and resolve technical queries (TQs) related to E&I installations.
  • Participate in inspection walkthroughs, pre-commissioning checks, and handover processes.

5. Project Execution & Handover Support

  • Monitor progress of electrical and instrumentation activities to align with project timelines.
  • Support energization, loop checks, subsystem completion, and final commissioning activities.
  • Ensure closure of punch points in accordance with ADNOC project requirements.

Desired Candidate Profile

Qualifications & Experience

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or equivalent.
  • 10 years of experience in E&I inspection for Oil & Gas onshore/offshore projects.
  • Strong understanding of ADNOC CPs, engineering standards, and quality procedures.
  • Certifications preferred: QA/QC Electrical/Instrumentation ISO 9001 Auditor (advantage) CompEx / Ex Certification (highly preferred) BOSIET/HUET (mandatory for offshore roles)
  • Strong reading and interpretation skills of electrical drawings, P&IDs, ILDs, hook‑ups, cable schedules, and datasheets.
  • Familiarity with international codes: IEC, IEEE, NEC, ISA, API, ATEX.

  • Exposure to brownfield, shutdown, and live‑plant work conditions.
