Job Summary:
We are seeking a talented Electrical BIM Modeler with experience in electrical systems modeling and a strong understanding of BIM methodologies. The ideal candidate will be proficient in Revit, Navisworks, Dynamo BIM, and will have a working knowledge of BIM LOD (Level of Development) ranging from LOD 100 to LOD 500. In addition, expertise in 4D and 5D BIM integration for project scheduling and cost estimation is essential. As an Electrical BIM Modeler, you will play a key role in delivering detailed and coordinated electrical models, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless integration across all aspects of building design.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop detailed electrical models in Revit from schematic design through to construction documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project requirements and standards (LOD 100 to LOD 500).
Utilize Navisworks for clash detection, model coordination, and to ensure that the electrical design integrates smoothly with architectural, structural, and mechanical systems. Address and resolve any design conflicts identified during coordination meetings.
Integrate 4D (scheduling) and 5D (cost estimation) BIM data into electrical models. Collaborate with project managers and construction teams to incorporate time and cost factors, ensuring the electrical design is in sync with the project timeline and budget.
Ensure that COBie (Construction Operations Building Information Exchange) data is correctly structured and incorporated into electrical BIM models for post-construction facility management and asset data tracking.
Use Dynamo BIM to automate repetitive tasks, create parametric designs, and enhance workflow efficiency for electrical modeling. Develop custom scripts to streamline modeling processes and optimize performance.
Regularly perform quality control checks on electrical models to ensure that they meet the highest standards of accuracy and consistency. Review and validate models to identify and correct errors or inconsistencies.
Produce and maintain accurate project documentation related to electrical BIM models, including coordination reports, clash detection logs, and status updates for team members and stakeholders.
Work closely with mechanical, structural, and architectural teams to ensure electrical models are aligned with other building systems. Participate in design coordination meetings to review progress, identify issues, and resolve any discrepancies.
Assist in the development and implementation of BIM execution plans for electrical systems. Ensure all project stakeholders follow established BIM workflows and protocols for model creation, data sharing, and collaboration.
Stay up-to-date with the latest trends in electrical BIM, emerging technologies, and best practices. Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities to grow your expertise.
