Electrical Design Engineer | Power Transformer

The role involves end-to-end electrical design of power transformers up to 50 MVA, 132 kV class, including design calculations, BOM preparation, technical submittals, and coordination with internal teams and customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Design of power transformers up to 50 MVA, 132 kV class

• Preparation of electrical design calculations and Bill of Materials (BOM)

• Preparation of customer technical submittals

• Review and verification of manufacturing and fabrication drawings

• Coordination with Sales, Purchase, Production, QA, Suppliers, and Customers

• Ensure compliance with IEC and ANSI standards

Technical Requirements

• Experience in:

  • Disc winding, Foil winding, CTC conductors

  • Hermetically sealed & conservator type transformers

  • On Load Tap Changer (OLTC)

• Strong knowledge of:

  • Short circuit calculations

  • Cooling calculations

  • Impulse & loading calculations

• Understanding of transformer insulation, thermal design, and performance optimization

Tools & Software

• DesDT / iTRACS or equivalent transformer design software

• MS Windows and MS Office tools

Standards & Compliance

• Working knowledge of IEC and ANSI standards

• Awareness of:

  • ISO 9001 Quality Management System

  • ISO 14001 Environmental Management System

  • Industrial safety practices

Soft Skills

• Strong communication and coordination skills

• Ability to work with cross-functional teams

• Good supervision and technical decision-making ability
