Job Description

As an Electrical Maintenance Technician, you'll be a critical part of our maintenance team, responsible for ensuring the continuous operation and maintenance of electrical systems and equipment. Working within a dynamic and high-paced environment, you will perform day-to-day maintenance activities, troubleshoot issues, and ensure safety protocols are adhered to. Your expertise will contribute significantly to minimizing downtime and maximizing reliability and efficiency across all electrical systems. You'll also play a key role in collaborating with other technical teams to implement new projects and improve existing systems. If you have a strong understanding of electrical principles, attention to detail, and a proactive approach, this role is ideally suited for you.


Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular inspections of electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, or repairs.
  • Diagnose malfunctioning systems and components using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on all electrical systems and ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Collaborate with management to plan scheduled maintenance periods and prioritize repair tasks effectively.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and electrical design specifications with precision.
  • Install, maintain, and enhance electrical systems and components, including transformers, switchgears, and circuit-breakers.
  • Maintain accurate records and prepare reports on repair work and maintenance schedules.
  • Ensure all safety protocols are strictly adhered to during installation and maintenance activities.
  • Support the installation of new electrical equipment and manage the upgrade of existing systems when necessary.
  • Train junior or new staff in the troubleshooting and maintenance of complex electrical systems.
  • Maintain inventory of spare parts and requisition additional parts when needed to minimize downtime.
  • Respond swiftly to emergency calls for repairs while ensuring comprehensive problem-solving approaches.

Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications preferred.
  • Proven experience as an electrical maintenance technician or in a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, safety standards, and industrial equipment operations.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and electrical blueprints effectively.
  • Proficient in using electrical test equipment and hand tools for troubleshooting.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and a keen eye for detail and quality assurance.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as part of a team.
