The Electrician is responsible for managing resources and activities devoted to their section of the electrical power production operation of a 5MW Power Plant in accordance with the performance work statement. The qualified candidate will report to the Site Manager.
MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES: Please list by order of priority and, if possible, provide the percentage of time spent on the activity all should equal 100%.
Proficiency with procedures for safe operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of all electrical equipment associated with the power plant in a multitude of voltage ranges from 6 volts to 11kV with specialized experience in medium voltage ranges.
Shall have knowledge of: Principles of electronics and electricity, including power generation, electrical conversion, 400v/11kV transformation, 11kV distribution, RMUs, and UDS; SME in low/medium voltage circuits, 11kV switchgear operation, up to 1250A circuit breakers, switches, 1600kVA 400V/11kV transformers, fuses, regulators, relays (digital/mechanical), instruments, and meters associated with electric generation and switchgear distribution system; interpreting instrument and meter readings; wiring diagrams, schematics, drawings and technical publication; techniques in troubleshooting PCC, PLC, and or SCADA systems for monitoring internal combustion engines, generators, generating power plants, control/distribution panels, and accessory power plant equipment.
Use and maintain various hand, power tools, and test equipment such as meggers, phase sticks, phase rotation meters, voltage testers, digging permit locators, digital test equipment, and electrical fault locating equipment.
SME in locating and repairing defects in electrical systems, installing LV/HV cables, high voltage terminating, splicing, service grounding, and troubleshooting distribution circuits, generating, and controlling equipment.
Shall maintain and adhere to applicable manufacturer’s manuals and good commercial practices for all electrical operations, inspections, maintenance, and repair actions to include: coordination of work, requesting parts, receiving parts, installing, troubleshooting, testing, and repairing equipment or systems.
Shall monitor power plant meter readings, input data, and provide reports.
Must be able to multi task and work in a high paced environment. Work with a sense of urgency to complete tasks safely, effectively and efficiently.
Responsible for following a comprehensive quality and safety program in compliance with Vectrus, OSHA and United States Air Force (USAF) requirements.
Responsible for following a comprehensive, flexible, and properly documented electrical training program.
Responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, sanitary, healthy, presentable, professional atmosphere, free of dust, clutter and trash in all working facilities and areas.
Responsible for proper utilization and safeguarding of all government and contractor provided property (e.g., to include government facilities, equipment and tools).
Responsible for precise execution of company time reporting procedures and accurate completion of timesheet.
Performs other duties as assigned.
MATERIAL & EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED:
Materials used: Tools and personal protection equipment (PPE) such as ARC Flash suit and rubber protective gear.
May be exposed to potentially hazardous conditions that require wear of hard hats, gloves, steel toed boots, hearing protection, safety glasses and other PPE; may be required to push, pull and lift heavy equipment.
Work will be mainly outdoors with office space provided. Exposure to heat, cold, dust, noise, chemicals may occur. Overtime and shift work may be required depending on contractual needs. Employee must comply with all Federal, State and Local regulations and published Company work rules as well as written instructions. Task specific work environment training will be provided as required. Must be prepared to function in a wartime environment to support U. S. interests. 100% Overseas Assignment.
Physical requirements include lifting up to 35lb, team lifting up to 50lbs, climbing, extended sitting, or standing, stooping, stretching, and bending.
