Job Purpose

The Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems related to farm operations, including pumps, motors, control panels, and wiring. This role ensures uninterrupted power supply for irrigation and other farm activities while adhering to safety and operational standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems for irrigation pumps, motors, and controllers.
• Troubleshoot and resolve electrical faults in farm irrigation systems.
• Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance of electrical components.
• Install and maintain wiring, switches, circuit breakers, and control panels in farm facilities.
• Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards and regulations.
• Monitor power supply, resolve voltage fluctuation issues, and manage load balancing.
• Assist in setting up automation systems for irrigation scheduling and pump operations.
• Coordinate with farm managers and technicians for efficient system operations.
• Maintain detailed records of inspections, repairs, and system performance.
• Ensure safe practices to minimize risks of electrical hazards.

Qualifications

• High School or equivalent qualification.
• 2–5 years of relevant experience in electrical maintenance (preferably in farm irrigation systems).

Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, and motor controls.
• Hands-on experience with farm irrigation systems, including pump and panel wiring.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams and circuit layouts.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of safety standards and procedures in electrical maintenance.
• Physically fit and capable of working outdoors in farm environments.
• Understanding of irrigation system automation and controls.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
