Electrician
The Electrician operates, maintains and repairs all
medium (MV) and low voltage (LV) components; distribution systems; and major
electrical consumption equipment for the hotel.
He is responsible for completion of other services or duties as
requested by the Engineering Supervisor .

An impressive 100,000
square meters, the Emerald Palace Kempinski Dubai comprises 347 luxuriously
appointed rooms, of which 36 are exquisitely spacious suites. Surrounded by
pristinely landscaped tropical gardens are eight highly appointed royal villas
with stunning views of the Palm Lagoon. The hotel s wide variety of international
restaurants, boutique mall and cinema provide ample dining and entertainment
attractions. With its opening in 2018, the hotel s classical design will
complement the Kempinski Residences and Hotel Apartments Palm Jumeirah, which
has been developed in the same architectural style and is located on the
adjacent plot.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are
not limited to the following:
• Ensure all work follows safe work
practices and procedures
• Respond immediately to all work
requests which concern Health and Safety
• Ensure environmentally friendly
practices are followed when handling chemicals and refrigerants
• Respond to guest requests
promptly in a professional and courteous manner
• Operate, maintain and repair all
MV/LV related equipment and electric distribution boards.
• Ensure the optimum performance of
all MV/LV related equipment by effectively
• following the preventive
maintenance and the shift readings and checklists.
• Complete all work orders with due
diligence.
• Maintain a daily log book
highlighting problems for the proper follow up and solutions; as well as any
other activities
• Maintain MV/LV shop drawings.
• Maintain equipment catalogue and
tagging directories
• Actively participate in the
monthly departmental meeting by providing feedback and offering suggestions for
improvement
• Complete tasks as assigned by
Assistant Director of Engineering/Director of Engineering.
• Maintain health and safety
documentation and records for the assigned area
• Report and documents potential
safety hazards in the building and the work areas.
• Participate as directed in the
emergency response team.
• Assist in other areas of the
hotel as and when required, carry out any other reasonable duties and
responsibilities as assigned.
• Comply with the guidelines and
policies established in the Colleague Handbook, Business Code of Conduct and
Ethics policy, hotel s regulations on fire, hygiene, health and safety.
• Maintain a high standard of
personal appearance and hygiene as per the hotel s grooming standards at all
times.
• Maintain a good rapport and
working relationship with colleagues in the department and all other
departments.
• Attend and contribute to
meetings, department and hotel trainings and other scheduled activities.
• Carry out your role in a safe and
environmentally friendly way, protecting the health and safety of both
colleagues and guests, as well as contributing to protecting the environment.
• Comply with the hotel s
Environmental and Occupational Health and Safety procedures at all times.

any time according to the needs of the business and of the hotel.

Desired Candidate Profile

Desired Skills & Qualifications:
• Progressive experience of at least 2 years as
a technician in a five star hotel in the UAE
• Proficient in the operation and maintenance
of MV/LV systems and equipment as well as a good understanding of overall
building operations
• Ability to handle a multiple nationality team
• Ability to read and interpret MEP and Architectural
drawings
• Ability to make rough estimates on materials
and labour for tasks
• Ability to use general tools and equipment
required for building repairs and maintenance
• English excellent oral and written skills
• Proficiency in the use of computer for Microsoft Office applications, AutoCAD, AV,
ELV, Media, Communications and Lighting Control Systems
