Engineering Supervisor
The Engineering
Supervisor is responsible for the efficient operation and maintenance of the
physical plant, utility services, and structure in the hotel facility. He will facilitate the organization of
preventive maintenance schedules, work order requests and all MEP and civil
works. He will perform other services or duties as requested by the Assistant
Director of Engineering.

square meters, the Emerald Palace Kempinski Dubai comprises 347 luxuriously
appointed rooms, of which 36 are exquisitely spacious suites. Surrounded by
pristinely landscaped tropical gardens are eight highly appointed royal villas
with stunning views of the Palm Lagoon. The hotel s wide variety of international
restaurants, boutique mall and cinema provide ample dining and entertainment
attractions. With its opening in 2018, the hotel s classical design will
complement the Kempinski Residences and Hotel Apartments Palm Jumeirah, which

adjacent plot.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are
not limited to the following:
• Ensure
all work follows safe work practices and procedures.
• Respond
immediately to all work requests which concern Health and Safety.
• Ensure
environmentally friendly practices are followed when handling chemicals,
lubricants and refrigerants.
• Respond
to guest requests promptly in a professional and courteous manner.
• Facilitate
and coordinates maintenance and repairs to all civil, interior design and MEP
• Ensure
the optimum condition and appearance all civil, interior design, and FF&E
finishes by following the preventive maintenance program.
• Ensure
the optimum condition and appearance all civil, interior design, and FF&E
finishes by managing the preventive maintenance program.
• Ensure
the optimum performance of all MEP equipment by effectively managing the
preventive maintenance and the shift readings programs.
• Evaluate
and appropriately responds to equipment usage and energy efficiency.
• Ensure
that all work orders are completed with due diligence.
• Maintain
a daily log book highlighting problems and solutions; and activities.
• Maintain
all civil, ID and MEP shop drawings.
• Maintain
equipment catalogue and tagging directories.
• Assist
in the management and coordination of outside contractors.
• Assist
in the management and coordination of 3rd air and water quality testing.
• Actively
participate in the monthly departmental meeting by providing feedback and
offering suggestions for improvement.
• Assist
in conducting coaching, mentoring, counseling and performance review sessions.
• Assist
in keeping the department informed on and motivated towards hotel directives
and goals.
• Assist
in developing and managing a departmental training plan as well as providing
training to all departmental staff to ensure efficient operation, proper
maintenance and repair to equipment, as well as good morale.
• Assist
in conducting daily engineering staff briefing and distributes daily work
• Recognize
staff special occasions and opportunities to celebrate success.
• Complete
tasks as assigned by Assistant Chief Engineer.
• Maintain
health and safety documentation and records for the assigned area.
• Report
and documents potential safety hazards.
• Participate
as directed in the emergency response team.
• Assist
in other areas of the hotel as and when required, carry out any other
reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned.
• Comply
with the guidelines and policies established in the Colleague Handbook,
Business Code of Conduct and Ethics policy, hotel s regulations on fire,
hygiene, health and safety.
• Maintain
a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene as per the hotel s grooming
standards at all times
• Maintain
a good rapport and working relationship with colleagues in the department and
all other departments.
• Attend
and contribute to meetings, department and hotel trainings and other scheduled
• Carry
out your role in a safe and environmentally friendly way, protecting the health
and safety of both colleagues and guests, as well as contributing to protecting
the environment.
• Comply
with the hotel s Environmental and Occupational Health and Safety procedures at
all times.
