Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

This role provides the opportunity to work across the full lifecycle of environmental verification and test from early program feasibility, to planning, SOP creation, infrastructure readiness, maintenance oversight, right through to the hands-on execution of Vibration, TVAC, Thermal, and EMC/EMI campaigns.

This role is vital as it ensures our satellites are tested reliably, on schedule, and to the high standards required for us to launch.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain environmental test equipment (thermal vacuum, vibration, acoustic chambers)
  • Set up test articles and install sensors (e.g., thermocouples, accelerometers, strain gauges)
  • Execute environmental tests per procedure and engineering direction
  • Monitor test progress, identify and report anomalies or failures
  • Collect and analyze test data; prepare accurate technical reports
  • Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and calibration of test equipment
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and cleanroom procedures
  • Collaborate with AIT, QA, and engineering teams to improve test processes

Desired Candidate Profile

Must-have Skills & Experience

  • 2 5 years of environmental test experience
  • Proficiency operating test equipment (thermal vacuum chambers, vibration shakers, etc.)
  • Ability to read and interpret test plans, schematics, and engineering drawings
  • Technical diploma or Associate s degree in a relevant field (e.g., mechanical or electrical technology)
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety in high-stakes environments
  • Solid understanding of instrumentation and data acquisition systems

Nice-to-have Skills & Experience

  • Experience with environmental test standards (e.g., GEVS, Mil-Std-1540, CEQATR)
  • Familiarity with RF testing setups or tools
  • Basic scripting or programming skills (Python preferred)
  • Certified forklift and/or crane operator
  • Experience working in cleanroom or ISO-classified environments
