Roles & Responsibilities

Responsibilities

  • Analyze project specifications and documents to prepare detailed cost estimates.
  • Collaborate with engineers and architects to gather accurate project scope information.
  • Evaluate materials and labor costs by reviewing vendor pricing and market trends.
  • Prepare and present comprehensive cost breakdowns and proposals to management.
  • Monitor project progress and update estimates as project conditions change.
  • Work with project teams to develop value engineering and cost-saving strategies.
  • Manage the bid process, including client meetings and proposal deliverables.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing agreements.
  • Review historical data from previous projects to refine cost estimation methods.
  • Assist in preparing financial forecasts and budgets for current and future projects.
  • Identify potential risks and mitigate them through precise planning and analysis.
  • Conduct post-project analysis to assess the accuracy of initial estimates.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in estimation or cost management in construction or engineering.
  • Strong proficiency in estimation software such as CostX, PlanSwift, or similar tools.
  • Excellent mathematical skills and attention to detail for accurate calculations.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with diverse project stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess risks and make recommendations.
