Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of accurate cost estimates for projects by analyzing project specifications, drawings, and scope of work.

  • Collaborate with project managers and engineering teams to understand project requirements and adjust estimates accordingly.

  • Conduct risk assessments to identify potential cost overruns and recommend mitigation strategies.

  • Maintain a database of historical cost data to enhance the accuracy of future estimates.

  • 1. Tender Management

    • Manage the full tendering process from tender invitation to submission.

    • Review tender documents, drawings, specifications, and scope of work.

    • Develop appropriate pricing strategies for each tender.

    • Coordinate with technical and engineering teams to prepare the technical proposal.

    2. Cost Estimation & Analysis

    • Prepare detailed project cost estimates.

    • Analyze material, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.

    • Prepare detailed Bills of Quantities (BOQ) and pricing breakdowns.

    • Review direct and indirect cost components.

    3. Pricing Strategy

    • Develop pricing strategies to ensure competitiveness while maintaining profitability.

    • Analyze market trends and competitor pricing.

    • Determine appropriate profit margins for projects.

    4. Team Leadership

    • Lead and manage the tendering and estimation team.

    • Assign tasks and monitor tender preparation timelines.

    • Provide guidance and technical support to team members.

    5. Coordination & Communication

    • Coordinate with:

      • Engineering Department

      • Procurement Department

      • Finance Department

      • Project Management Team

    • Communicate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain quotations.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, with a preference for candidates with advanced degrees.

  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in cost estimation within the construction or engineering sectors.

  • Professional certifications such as Certified Cost Estimator/Analyst (CCEA) or equivalent are highly desirable.

  • Proven experience in large-scale projects, demonstrating advanced knowledge of estimation techniques and tools.
