Roles & Responsibilities
As an Estimator specializing in fit-out projects, you will play a critical role in the financial planning and success of construction projects tailored to customizing building interiors. You will be responsible for analyzing project specifications, identifying required resources, and evaluating the costs associated with materials and labor to ensure projects are completed within budgets. Your expertise will guide decision-makers in making informed choices that align with financial constraints while maintaining high-quality standards. You will collaborate closely with project managers, architects, and contractors to provide accurate and timely estimations that drive project success from inception to completion. This role demands keen attention to detail, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work within fast-paced environments.
Responsibilities
- Review architectural and engineering drawings to understand the scope of fit-out projects.
- Conduct detailed quantity take-offs to establish labor, material, and time requirements.
- Prepare comprehensive and accurate cost estimates within established timelines.
- Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to gather cost information and bids.
- Develop and update cost databases, ensuring data accuracy and relevance.
- Present estimates to project managers and clients in a clear and detailed manner.
- Identify and assess potential risks and opportunities to optimize cost efficiency.
- Engage in value engineering to reduce costs without compromising quality or design intent.
- Respond promptly to request for proposals and tenders with competitive bidding strategies.
- Participate in project meetings to discuss budget constraints and resource allocation.
- Maintain updated records of all estimates, contracts, and relevant project data.
- Implement and ensure compliance with company estimation policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, architecture, or a related field preferred.
- At least three years of experience in estimating within the construction industry.
- Strong proficiency with estimation software and tools for accurate cost projections.
- Proven ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills with an attention to detail.
- Familiarity with relevant building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
- Ability to work well both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
