Executive Housekeeper

Role Overview

Lead the entire Housekeeping function guestrooms, suites, public areas, back-of-house, laundry/linen & uniform rooms delivering immaculate standards, high productivity, and outstanding guest satisfaction while controlling costs and ensuring hygiene & safety compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Set department strategy, standards, SOPs, and inspection programs; ensure brand-level cleanliness, presentation, turndown, and amenities.
• Direct daily operations: briefings, section allocations, VIP/pre-arrival checks, PA inspections, deep-clean and project schedules.
• Own budgets, forecasts, and cost controls for labour, chemicals, guest supplies, OS&E, and linen PARs; lead month-end inventories.
• Manage laundry/linen & uniform workflows (in-house or outsourced): quality, turnaround, losses/shrink control.
• Recruit, roster, train, and performance-manage a multicultural team; build a strong supervisor bench and succession plan.
• Ensure compliance with hygiene (HACCP/ISO where applicable), SDS/chemical safety, OHS, key control, and Lost & Found.
• Partner with Front Office on accurate room status, rush rooms, and recovery cases; maintain Opera discipline.
• Coordinate Engineering work orders and preventive maintenance for rooms/equipment; follow through to closure.
• Monitor guest feedback and online reviews; execute service-recovery and continuous-improvement actions.
• Prepare reports/KPIs: inspection scores, productivity, complaints & recovery, costs/variance, and CAPEX/project proposals.

Requirements

• 5+ years leadership in Housekeeping within a luxury (4/5-star) hotel/resort; large inventory/high-seasonality experience preferred.
• Proven record elevating standards, guest scores, and departmental productivity.
• Strong financial acumen (labour modelling, PAR management, OS&E/chemical cost control).
• Expert knowledge of cleaning methods, equipment, OHS, SDS/chemical handling, and hygiene standards.
• Proficient with Opera PMS and MS Office; HK systems experience is an advantage.
• Inspirational people leader with excellent coaching and communication skills.
• Excellent command of English; flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
