Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Manage the receipt, verification, and proper storage of raw materials, consumables, and packaging materials.
  • Maintain accurate records of stock movements in ERP/manual register as per SOPs.
  • Ensure timely issuance of materials to production based on work orders and requirements.
  • Monitor stock levels and raise requisitions for replenishment to avoid stock-outs.
  • Ensure FIFO/FEFO practices are followed during issuance.
  • Coordinate with purchase, QA, and production departments for material planning and inventory issues.
  • Conduct periodic physical stock counts and reconcile variances, if any.
  • Supervise store helpers and ensure proper housekeeping and material stacking.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, hygiene, and regulatory norms within the store area.
  • Prepare daily stock reports, consumption records, and other MIS reports as required.

Authorities

  • To approve material receipt and issue entries in the ERP/system.
  • To report discrepancies in the quality or quantity of received materials to the QA and Purchase departments.
  • To assign work to helpers for unloading, stacking, and shifting of materials.
  • To reject or quarantine damaged or unapproved materials with QA support.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Possesses a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of proven experience in raw material store management within the flexible packaging industry.
  • Demonstrates a strong understanding of inventory management principles and practices, including FIFO and FEFO.
  • Proficient in using ERP systems and inventory management software, with experience in SAP or similar platforms.
  • Exhibits a solid understanding of flexible packaging materials and their properties.
  • Possesses excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Demonstrates strong leadership and team management abilities, with the ability to motivate and guide a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively interacting with suppliers, production teams, and management.
  • Should have a strong understanding of safety regulations and quality control procedures within a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
