Executive / Sr. Executive - Estimator (Joinery)

The Estimator / Senior Estimator plays a vital role in Herringbone’s commercial and project delivery functions by producing accurate cost estimates and Bills of Quantities (BOQs) for interior decoration and fit-out projects. This position involves analysing architectural and joinery drawings, coordinating with design and procurement teams, obtaining competitive pricing from suppliers/subcontractors, and ensuring tender submissions align with company cost strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

Cost Estimation & Tendering

• Review initial concept joinery drawings, specifications, and BOQs to determine accurate material, labor, and equipment quantities.

• Prepare detailed BOQs and cost breakdowns for interior fit-out, joinery fabrication, and finishing works.

• Develop comprehensive commercial and technical submissions for tender packages.

• Perform quantity take-offs using AutoCAD, PlanSwift, or equivalent tools.

Vendor & Market Analysis

• Source and evaluate competitive quotes from suppliers and subcontractors

• Maintain an up-to-date cost database for materials, labor rates, and subcontractor pricing.

  Cross-Functional Coordination

• Work closely with design, procurement, production, and site teams to ensure cost plans align with technical and design intent.

• Attend site visits and client meetings as needed to clarify scope, verify quantities, and refine estimates.

Commercial Support:

• Support contract negotiation, value engineering, and cost control throughout tender and project lifecycle.

• Assist Project Managers with budget monitoring, variation assessments, and final account preparation.
